Process

Five steps, paced by the waits.

A custom guitar roughly follows these five steps. This is draft copy for the page, not a promised schedule.

  1. Inquiry and spec

Shape, scale length, fret count, wood direction, finish. Write down what is settled. Mark the rest as open.

  2. Wood and structure

Selection, glue-up, and how the neck meets the body. The wood can change the order of later work.

  3. Machining

Neck and body proceed separately. Machine time and hand time stay in separate counts.

  4. Finish

Sanding and spraying follow each coat’s wait. Cure time is not a free gap. Same-day continuation is not assumed.

  5. Handover

Setup, then collection at the shop or shipping. Shipping is not acceptance.
